We have been teaching Cadence sign language for every day activities. Verbal skills are the last thing that a baby learns and we have hoped that being able to express herself with her hands will cut down on her frustration in communication. Until yesterday, she only gave us a blank stare when we would sign a word to her so we weren't sure if she was getting it. Then when she woke up and I set her on the ground to play, she signed "All done", indicating that she wanted to get up. Now every time we put her in the car seat, which she has detested since birth, she starts crying and signing "All done. All done." It makes us laugh. Here it is:
