Once Upon a Springtime

As a salute to Spring as it passes us by, I'll post a few pictures of the fun we had.

We rode in style...even at the posh mall in Singapore!

We painted our faces and talked to our grandparents all the way in America.

We ate lots of rice...and we played IN the uncooked rice from our sensory bin.

We chased Cinderella all over the neighborhood, and she has gotten much faster lately!

We colored pictures and mailed them to our family.
Sometimes we even smiled for the camera...if we felt like it.

Our everyday, ordinary lives

I have heard it said that "These are the longest days of your life and the shortest years."  Indeed my days as a "stay at home  Mommy" often seem long and unworthy of publishing in a blog.  But occasionally I grab the camera to document the moments, so here are a few.  Cadence loves to paint.  For obvious reasons, we do this naked and on the front porch!

She also loves to sing, making songs up as she goes.  This is the background music of my life.  It NEVER stops.

She has always been a climber, but now she is taking that to greater heights.  Fortunately, this is the highest tree in the yard, but today she asked me to help her climb over the wall (I didn't) so it is only a matter of time before she discovers freedom from our gated yard.

Her bunny Cinderella (the second) is still a favorite everyday playmate.    We often catch a glimpse of Cinderella hopping through the yard wearing a baby doll outfit or hair piece.

Despite the fact that we are only 10 minutes away, we get to the beach only once or twice a month.  Jody and Cadence took me out for dinner on the beach for Mother's day.

The last of the easter candy is going quickly.  Cadence gets one piece per day and she always lines it up like this to pick which one she will eat.

"Bubba" is still Cadence's favorite toy and goes everywhere with us.

Cadence LOVES princess dresses.  Today she told me that she needed a new one, so we dug through her closet and found  this old favorite that I wore as a child.  Turns out to still be a good dress to wear when swinging from trees, even after 32 years.

Left to her own, Cadence has a fantastic eye for fashion.  She's going to be like her Aunt Kk.
And these are the days of our life...
