House Tour

We are in the capital city until Tuesday when we will make the 3 hour drive over the mountains to our house in the north. I really wanted something on the beach and Jody wanted something in the mountains. Imagine how surprised we were to find a house with a view where we can see the ocean to the north of the house and the mountains to the south of the house!!! I felt certain that since I was praying harder than Jody, I would get MY way...but it turns out that God hears Jody's prayers too!!!!!

The house is in a local neighborhood. The neighbors are all middle class so they are closer to our financial level and many of them are govm't officials so Jody blends right in as he is also here working for the govm't. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an office, a living/dining room, a kitchen and a parlor (which will be a great place to have studies with local women). I just had someone make some large throw pillows in lieu of furniture for that room so that we can cram more people into the room. Now I am waiting and asking Him to send me women who want to learn.

When we moved in, I made 25 loaves of banana bread and took one to each of the neighbors so that we could meet them. I attached a sticker to each loaf with our names on it so that they would remember our names and then we made a map of the neighborhood with all of their names so that we could start learning all of their names. There are two teenage girls that come over and hang out with me every day, and Jody is completely in his element with the men.

Jody wants to take you on a tour of the new house from the inside. Let's begin in the entryway.

Then we will move into the master bedroom.

And on to the master bathroom.

This is the living/dining room.

This is the kitchen from the back door.

And the kitchen from the living room door.

And here is Jody on the roof of the garage.

As you can see, we still have a lot of work to do before this starts to feel like "home sweet home", but we are busy trying to make it that way. Houses here don't come with closets so we have ordered wardrobes. Until they come in, however, we are living ou
